Breaking yum infinite loop

When executing “yum update openssl*”, it seems yum runs into infinite loop:

--> Running transaction check
---> Package gmp.x86_64 0:4.3.1-7.el6_2.2 will be updated
--> Processing Dependency: libgmp.so.3()(64bit) for package: cloog-ppl-0.15.7-1.2.el6.x86_64
--> Processing Dependency: libgmp.so.3()(64bit) for package: ppl-0.10.2-11.el6.x86_64
---> Package python.x86_64 0:2.6.6-29.el6_2.2 will be updated
--> Processing Dependency: python(abi) = 2.6 for package: pygtksourceview-2.8.0-1.el6.x86_64
--> Processing Dependency: python(abi) = 2.6 for package: PyXML-0.8.4-19.el6.x86_64
--> Processing Dependency: python(abi) = 2.6 for package: python-simplejson-2.0.9-3.1.el6.x86_64
---> Package python-libs.x86_64 0:2.6.6-29.el6_2.2 will be updated
--> Processing Dependency: libpython2.6.so.1.0()(64bit) for package: python-simplejson-2.0.9-3.1.el6.x86_64
--> Processing Dependency: libpython2.6.so.1.0()(64bit) for package: PyXML-0.8.4-19.el6.x86_64

Here is the solution:

yum clean all
rpm --rebuilddb
