Understanding why the new LUN disk is not ASM candidate

OS: Solaris SPARC 10u11
Storage : IBM DS8800

After assigning the LUN to host, kfod doesn’t show the disk as a candidate.

truss kfod disks=all op=ALL s=TRUE dscvgroup=TRUE

We can see that the error occurred when trying to open the disk with READ_ONLY option. I/O error was also reported when trying to dd the disk ( both for if device and of device).

The cause is that after assigning the LUN, we need to label the disk in Solaris.
